What to Do With Your Pumpkins (Cooking)

Hey everyone! I should have gotten this post up a while ago (or even before Thanksgiving) but now I'm going to spin this as what to do with all the pumpkins you have around your house as decoration from Thanksgiving of Fall as we're now moving into December and the Christmas season :)

So basically you can do this with any size pumpkin  (sometimes the smaller ones are better) we just had a giant one and I had the real urge to bake pumpkin things (and it is impossible to find canned pumpkin in this country like I can in California- so I had to make it myself)

So first off- wash the outside of your pumpkin since you're going to be cutting into it some dirt can make it's way inside your pumpkin if you don't (if your pumpkin is really big wash it in the bathtub- that's what I did)

Next cut your pumpkin in half and scrape out the guts and seeds (I save them to bake them)

then cut your pumpkin into quarters or halves just keep it in halves if its small.
turn your oven up to around 200C and adjust accordingly

If your pumpkin starts getting brown and a weird texture on the edges then you need to turn your oven down. I baked mine for about an hour- until a fork went through it cleanly.
After you take your pumpkin out you can either turn it into pumpkin mash (I'll have a post on that soon)
Or peel it (the skin just comes right off with a fork) and cut it into chunks to serve with dinner. You can also freeze it if you have my house if we don't eat vegetables in time we freeze them and then heat them to serve with dinner in the future.
I hope this helped :) because the first time I did this I was completely clueless and thought it would be complicated but it's actually super easy and I love cooked pumpkin either with brown sugar and cinnamon on it for a snack or some butter and eat it with dinner :)

The "Fall in Love" Tag!

***The picture is of me but it was taken by my best friend Brittney a couple of years ago. You can check out her photography pages and even probably find a few pictures of me! Facebook | Flickr
I was tagged by the lovely Lacey of lovelaceybeauty who also has an AMAZING youtube channel (seriously I watch every single one of her videos as soon as she publishes them)

1. What fall trend are you most excited for?
I'm not too up to date on the trends honestly...except I'm excited to wear dark lips and I'm pretty sure cobalt nails are in even though I''ve been wearing them for years I'll finally be on trend!

2. What is your favorite fall beauty product?
I know they probably mean makeup wise...but heavy duty moisturizers. I can definitely tell when the weather starts to change because my skin dries out almost instantly. Especially because its windy and cold enough to snow in the city I live in.. Some drugstore favorites are the Nivea Daily Essentials Regenerating Night Cream and the Garnier Moisture Match for Dry Skin

3. What is your favorite fall drink?
Pumpkin Spice Lattes and Iced Americanos #typicalwhitegirl

4. What is your favorite fall scent?
Chanel Coco Mademoiselle

5. What fall trend do you hate?
ankle boots that end right above the ankle bone...literally every single person I see wearing them it looks awful because it cuts everyone off at the ankle and makes it look like most people don't have an actual just goes from calf to foot so it makes the legs look super wide. Short boots have to be a certain length...and most of them are way too short

6. What are you going to be for Halloween?
Well I'm a little late on this tag as always so I was an army girl for Halloween...last minute? yep. throw on some camo combat boots and war paint and you have an army girl!

7. What is your favorite fall song?
I don't really have themed songs for fall...but lately I've been listening nonstop to the newest 30 Seconds to Mars album Love Lust Faith + Dreams but I've been listening to it since it came out back in May so I'm not sure if it counts.....I've loved them since 2005...theyre definitely my favorite group/band/music

8. What is your favorite fall candy?
The pumpkin pie hersheys kisses IM IN LOVE

9. What is your favorite nail color for fall?
Burgundy! Or completely nude nails haha

I tag...everyone reading this! I read so many of the blogs of people who follow me and theyre all AMAZING! I know this would fit on everyones blog!

Most Loved: Fragrances

Hey everyone! Today I thought I'd write a post on my top favorite perfumes and body sprays (and hopefully if you like any of these we have similar tastes and you can find some new recommendations!)

Below I have the scent profiles of each of the perfumes/body sprays since I think it's really helpful and I definitely see a trend happening with these and It will be more helpful I think since you can look up your favorite perfumes (just type into google your favorite perfume notes) and see if these are in a similar scent family :)

Chanel Coco Mademoiselle:
"Orange, mandarin orange, orange blossom and bergamot, mimose, jasmine, turkish rose and ylang-ylang, tonka bean, patchouli, opoponax, vanilla, vetiver and white musk."

This I guess you could say is my signature scent. I interchange this with Miss Dior Cherie every time I run out since the fragrances are only slightly different but this is definitely the more sophisticated older sister of Miss Dior Cherie (not to mention everyone and their grandmother wears Miss Dior Cherie)

Chanel No. 5
"Neroli, ylang-ylang, bergamot, amalfi lemon, iris, jasmine, orris root, rose and lily-of-the-valley, vetiver, musk, sandalwood, patchouli, oak moss, amber, vanille and civetta."

This is the most sophisticated perfume I own. Timeless and reserved for special occasions especially because it is quite a strong scent with amazing silage. This was my grandmothers signature scent, and she was an inspiring sophisticated and beautiful woman that I can only aspire to embody and this perfume definitely makes me feel the part (or at least smell it haha)

MAC Turquatic
"Amalfi lemon, water notes, lotus, anemona, virginia cedar and orris root"

I think this is definitely my favorite scent...I don't think I can ever get tired of it. It's simple and aquatic and I find myself smelling my wrists all day long. I'm pretty sure MAC made this permanent and I'm over the moon and hope to get a giant bottle soon. This smells a lot like D&G Light Blue but is a little less headache inducing and slightly different/refreshing since again everyone owns Light Blue

D&G Light Blue
"Sicilian Citron, Bluebell, Granny Smith Apple, Jasmine Sambac, Bamboo, White Rose, Cedarwood, Amber, Musk."

Everyone....including ME. I love this perfume. It reminds me of drives down to the beach with my best friends and summer nights with bonfires and blankets wrapped around you. It has so many memories attached to it (probably because it's so strong). I go through phases of wearing this times I find it too strong for me and at other times it's just perfect. But DEFINITELY not a year round perfume (sorry if that offends anyone!)

Victoria's Secret Vixen
Apple blossom, freesia and vanille.

OH. MY. GOD. If you haven't smelled this you must. That is if you like the smell of things like DKNY Be Delicious basically go online and order this right now because I promise you'll love it. To me it almost smells like DKNY Be Delicious with a hint of watermelon? I asked my brother to describe it and he said it reminds him of watermelons too...but not the same scent when you think of a watermelon candy....or a watermelon itself...just go smell it and you'll see what I mean. Even as I type this my mouth is kind of watering and I feel my arm magnetically reaching towards the bottle on my shelf....Victorias Secret took this away temporarily but brought it back (I think for good?) since I saw it in their Semi-Annual Sale and it literally took my friend dragging me out of the store so I wouldn't buy it since I didn't have the money and still have 2/3 of the bottle. I hope to get this in the Perfume too and not just the body spray.

B&BW Capri Seaside Citrus
"Bergamot, mediterranean grapefruit, nectarine, coconut, Lily-of-the-valley, orange blossom, creamy musk, amber-colored driftwood, vanilla"

This one smells amazing. I don't know why it doesn't smell citrusy to me though. I was wearing it a few weeks ago and my brother said to me "You smell just like a Bath & Body Works. You know that smell when you walk into the shop? Just like that." I guess that's the best way to describe it but it smells wonderful. I'm not sure if you can get it as it was part of their summer collection but I imagine it's in a clearance bin somewhere and they often re-promote their summer collections. And boy oh boy that bottle...the chevron print is right up my alley. Which you would obviously know just from looking at my blog.

Other Favorites
Now I don't have all of the perfumes I love due to prices and the fact that I recently moved to Europe from California and couldn't take everything with me so I had to make some sad some of these I still have at my moms house and some I hope to receive for Christmas
Vera Wang Princess
Vera Wang Rock Princess
DKNY Be Delicious
Dior Hypnotic Poison
Valentino Rock N' Rose
Miss Dior Cherie
Chanel Chance
Roses de Chloe

Do you have a similar perfume taste to me? If so..what are some of your other favorites?

Wantable Subscription Box Review!

Hey everyone! You all know I'm a HUGE fan of subscription boxes (if not you can check out my ipsy reviews) and today I'll be reviewing Wantable*! When I was contacted and asked to review one of their boxes I jumped on that chance so fast I think I burned a hole in my keyboard. I've been eyeing their site for quite some time now and I genuinely believe they are one of the best subscription boxes.

You can pick either a makeup box, accessories box, or intimates box (and sometimes a themed box...they had a Halloween themed one) and then you take an extremely detailed quiz about what you like (and they actually listen!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm pointing my fingers at you ipsy...the queens of not listening)

This is the first subscription box I have come across that ACTUALLY listens to your quiz since every single thing I recieved in the box is something I love and have already used! So I'll definitely continue to use it! In the box you get 5 FULL SIZED products and a little sample of some kind which is great because you don't have a dusty sample box in the corner slowly filling up with unused sample sized things (guilty..)

The box comes beautifully packaged and wrapped nicely so none of the products were broken. I love all the detailing they put into the shows they really take their time and care about their customers.

L to R
LAQA & Co Nail Polish - Chubs$11
Michael Marcus Nail Polish - Once You Go Matte$15
Michael Marcus Eyeshadow - Uptight$18
Lise Watier Hydra Shine Lip Stain - Fuchsia $20
Besame Lipstick - Red Velvet$22
Now on to the goodies!!!!

LAQA & Co Nail Polish - Chubs This nail polish is AMAZING. It is so sparkly and shimmery and metallic and is opaque in one coat. The brush is pretty long so it gets all the way to the bottom of the bottle (which is always nice but not usually the case) I can really see myself wearing this a LOT with the holiday season coming up

Michael Marcus Nail Polish - Once You Go Matte Another nail polish! But I'm so happy I got this as I've been wanting either a black matte polish or a matte topcoat. I painted my toes with this and it kind of has that leather-look (but is really thin) and is completely opaque in two coats. I LOVE THIS

Michael Marcus Eyeshadow - Uptight This is a great neutral/base/basic eyeshadow shade that I think anyone could use. It's a pink peach color that has some shimmer to it and looks great all over the lid. I've been playing with it lately and find that it looks great with any color palette (browns/blacks/bolder colors) And I like to use it all over my lid as it is only slightly different from my skin tone (and shimmery!) I think it's a pretty good quality eyeshadow too!

Lise Watier Hydra Shine Lip Stain - Fuchsia If you're a lip stain kind of person this ones for you! I was kind of confused at first since hydrating and lip stain don't really go well together in my mind...but it was cleared up after applied. The applicator is a basic felt tip pen (which I usually hate) but SO MUCH PRODUCT comes out of the pen! And by that I mean I don't have to drag it and basically scrape my lips with it to get color payoff which is great! When applied it has a slight sheen to it (like the more liquid chapsticks) that hydrates your lips the first few hours of wear. If you rub at it it doesn't come off at all (but when it's drying in the beginning if you drink a lot it comes off a bit). I was really impressed with this lip stain and it has kind of changed my opinion about them (In a good way!)

Besame Lipstick - Red Velvet holy. moly. this little gem gets its own picture because I'm going to ramble on about this for a while...

first off....WOULD YOU LOOK AT THAT PACKAGING? lets just take a moment to admire it... this is such a gorgeous lipstick in so many ways I think I may be in love (is that possible?)

They literally could not have sent me a better lipstick in this box. I pulled it out and was amazed at how beautifully this little baby was packaged and just thought wow that's nice...but is it a good lipstick?

I went clubbing with a bunch of my friends and decided to try it out. Most people pick a no maintenance color...but I end up picking the darkest vampiest red I own haha..I feel braver in the dark clubs. Is it just me?

heres a picture pre-clubbing
As you can see it applied like a dream (oh yeah I even forgot a lipliner since I didn't get ready at my house). So after I applied I realised it was a semi-matte (I say semi because it wasn't drying) finish which is great so it won't slide around my face....

Didn't even look at it except for once in the mirror in the bathroom...didn't bring the lipstick with me....didn't wear a lipliner...was drinking the whole night....and when I got home and went to take my makeup off....IT LOOKED ALMOST EXACTLY LIKE WHEN I APPLIED IT with a HINT of fading in the middle.

If that isn't amazing I don't know what is...everyone who's been clubbing understands me.
I mean...need I say more about this little beaut?

L: Lip Stain Swatch
R: Lipstick Swatch

there were also two cream eyeshadow samples in the box (which I haven't tried yet) in a peachy shade and a more moss green shade by Lise Watier (the same company that made the lip stain).

Cost of the box: $36
Value of the box: $86
Would I buy this box: At this point in time no because I am a starving student on an EXTREMELY tight budget...but boy am I happy I got this
This was the ONLY company to have ever listened to those quizzes you take at the beginning especially since I have already used and loved every single thing in the box. I've NEVER had that happen...there's always one thing that gets shoved to the back of a drawer somewhere.
I honestly did wish I had the money to spend on this box because I thoroughly enjoyed it. Even though it is a bit more money you always get full sized products that you'll actually use.
Thank you so much Wantable for sending this to me.

Winter Essentials feat. inlovewithfashion

Hey everyone! recently contacted a bunch of us bloggers and asked us to put together a list of our winter essentials! This was super easy for me since I've been basically stalking their website for christmas gifts and making mental lists of things I'd like to receive haha so here are a few of my favorite items!
(L to R/Top to Bottom)
LOVE Berry Oversized Knit
LOVE Grey Oversized Hole Knit
LOVE Red Bow Back Skater Dress
LOVE Black Two Buckle Cut Out Chelsea Boot
LOVE White Tartan Pleated Skirt
ILWF Nude Suede Platform Shoe
As the holidays approach (yes I know we have barely passed Halloween) I adore adding festive berry colors to my usually neutral wardrobe (as you all know from my posts haha). I think adding a cranberry or deep burgundy really can add life to your wardrobe and what I love about the pieces I have picked is that you can wear them interchangeably!
I adore big chunky sweaters to either wear with leggings and boots and a scarf or skirts, tights, and ankle boots! (just like the ones I've shown above!) I also love the Bow Skater dress as it is something I could wear to a christmas party with the nude heels and a black blazer or dress it down with some black tights, boots, and a cardigan!
Although I'm definitely a summer girl I adore winter for the wardrobe I get to wear!
What are your favorite pieces for winter?
