A Night at the Opera // Makeup

Hey everyone! If you saw my last post, you know I went to the opera with my family and saw Tosca. (if you didn't see it you can see it here) So since I did an outfit post, I thought I'd do a makeup post!

I decided to go for the classic, winged eyeliner and a red lip. Isn't that what we all do for fancy occasions? But minimal makeup on the rest of the face and light shadows on the eyes.

Here is a better picture of the eye makeup, I only used two colors on the lid. the first color in my Inglot palette, shade 111 (I did a whole post on my Inglot palette that you can find here) and MAC Malt in the crease (then I used the top two warm colors mixed together under my eyes for some definition 421+114). I think Malt is such an underrated color, it is perfect for just that tiny bit of warm definition you want in your crease.Think Omega but warmer with a peachy pink undertone instead of a cool light taupey brown undertone. (is taupey a word? I don't think so…) But also if you are REALLY tan I think malt is a bit too light for you to use in the crease but it would be a great matte color to go under the brow bone.

And then  I used my trusty never fail Maybelline Line Stiletto for my eyeliner. (if you aren't the best at eyeliner…or even if you are, line stiletto has the BEST applicator) The applicator is sort of like a sponge and holds enough product to do your whole eye but doesn't overload because the sponge kind of absorbs the product and releases it as you line your eyes. (I'm starting to realize this is a very strange description…)

Face Products: (these are a bit more self explanatory)
Foundation- Covergirl 3-in-1 Outlast (in Europe it is the Max Factor Face Finitiy 3-in-1)
Concealer: On the face- MUFE Full Cover Concealer, Under the eyes MAC Pro Longwear in NW15
Powder: MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Light Plus
Highlighter: Inglot Sparkling Dust -Shade 2
Contour: NYX Blush in Taupe
Blush: MAC Warm Soul (new favorite omg)
Brows: ELF Eyebrow Kit in Ash
Brushes: Real Techniques Blush, Powder, & Expert Face Brush; Coastal Scents Stippling Brush

Eyes and Lips: I did use two lipliners, I used the darker one on the outside of my lips and the lighter one on the inside to give a fuller look. Also my lipstick looks so funny because I kept (without thinking) putting the cap to my MUFE Concealer onto my lipstick instead of the cap since they look similar and it smashed it…not once, but twice -cry-

Eyes:
Cream Shadow Base/Primer: Maybelline Color Tattoo in Barely Branded
Shadows: All over the lid: Bottom left Inglot shadow (111), in the crease, MAC Malt, under my eyes     for definition, the top two Inglot shadows (421 + 114)
Liner: Maybelline Line Stiletto
Mascara: Covergirl Clump Crusher & Covergirl Flamed Out Mascara
Brushes: Coastal Scents Angled Brush & Fluffy Brush, and a random fluffy brush I've had forever

Lips:
Liner: NYX Plush Red & NYX Red
Lipstick:  MAC Russian Red

  12. AMAZING!!!!!!! the retractable ones are the best. Once I forgot a lipstick and just filled in my lips with the darker red one (the retractable one) stayed all night didn't budge. and there's no feathering with them. I love them

  13. I will have to look at those next time I go to Ulta! I have only seen the pencil ones and I feel like sharpening can be messy so I like that they have retractable ones. Thanks :D
