|Tiny Tea Teatox*|
Hey everyone! If you follow me on twitter you know that recently I was given the opportunity by Your Tea to try their world famous Tiny Tea. When I actually received the email saying they did want to work with me I had to pick my jaw up off the floor and could hardly contain my excitement!
If you don't know what a Tiny Tea Teatox is, their website says
"My intricately balanced herbal blend will nourish and cleanse your digestive system, providing it the support it needs to replenish and restore back to its natural state. This cleanse will assist with reducing weight, easing bloating, increasing digestion functionality, improving skin clarity, increasing energy levels and alleviate issues associated with food intolerances."
In this review I'm going to show pictures of myself along the way (which isn't easy for me to post these pictures) and talk about how I felt inside from this tea (amazing!)
I was kindly sent the 14 day teatox, where you receive 3 teabags per day and are supposed to drink them 30 minutes before or after every meal, so your stomach is empty and you can receive the full effects of the tea. It also gives you a lot of natural energy (without caffeine) so they recommend you don't drink it late at night. The main focus of this tea is to clean out and detoxify your digestive system and restore the natural balance of your body to keep it working in tip top shape.
Let me start out by saying I was a total skeptic. I am a medical student, so by nature I am skeptical of herbal or natural remedies for certain things. All this tea contains is Oolong tea, cassia seed, lotus leaf, hawthorn fruit, and radish seed. The tea itself is based around Chinese medicine, and if you search the ingredients you can find all of the results they supposedly produce, and let me tell you it actually works!
Another main reason I wanted to try Tiny Tea is because it is the only tea of this kind that doesn't have a colonic element to it. What I mean by that is most teas I've seen you drink one type of tea in the morning, and then a gross tasting tea at night that is a colonic and makes you poop like crazy because it's trying to clear out your intestines. This tea however doesn't have any type of colonic element to it because who really wants to deal with that?
Taste. Taste is one of the most important things when you are drinking a tea 2-3 times a day for weeks. The taste of this tea is VERY earthy. By that I mean it tastes like you mixed Oolong and green tea together with a little something else in it. By no means is it my favorite flavor but i don't hate it, and after the first two or three days you become so accustomed to it, you hardly notice it. One thing I will say is that on the website, box, and instructions they recommend adding some lemon or honey to the tea to make it taste better. Every time I did this it tasted like dirt. It tasted like I took some dirt out of my rose bush and boiled it in some water. I think this tea tastes best when its piping hot to the point where it's drinkable without burning your tongue with nothing added.
Here are pictures of me on the day before I started my teatox. It is difficult for me to post pictures like this online because I am not happy with my body. I have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis which is basically an autoimmune disease and my thyroid gland slowly dies as I get older (I'm only 19). I have to get my blood checked every 3-6 months to make sure I am on the right dosage of artificial hormones otherwise I gain weight like crazy. Turns out I was on the wrong dose for a LONG period of time and was gaining weight even if I didn't eat, and so I have been slowly whittling my body back down to a healthy size.
Here are pictures halfway through the teatox. In the instructions, you can drink the recommended 3 cups a day or cut it down to two cups if you feel too energetic, but I ended up having to cut it down to two cups and extend it longer than 14 days because of my class schedule and not having access to hot water at all times.
In these pictures you can already tell what a difference the tea has made. In all of these pictures I am not sucking my stomach in and am trying to stand in the same position, but my arms look strange because I was trying to get rid of weird shadows across my stomach from the lighting in the hallway.
And finally, the end result! I am standing with my legs completely together (not like in the other pics oops) and hello thigh gap! I only mean it as a joke, but everyone in society is so focused on a thigh gap, I made it! Just kidding. But you can really tell what a difference it has made in my body and I am much happier now with how I look.
Now my main focus is to tone up and get bikini ready!
|Here are side by side pictures so you can really see my transformation.|
One of the side effects of this tea is my skin. And by that I mean any acne I had cleared up straight away, and I haven't had a single spot since being on this teatox. My skin isn't red or angry looking, and during the teatox I was on my period where I ALWAYS get one of those angry spots that's under the skin and makes your whole face hurt. And since I was drinking this tea, not a spot in sight! And I have been off of it for a few days because of a postal mishap (I'm going to talk about later) and my skin is still crystal clear.

Another "side effect" is I didn't have any period cramps. This is huge for me, I used to take birth control (which also made me gain weight) just to make my periods less horrendous. I usually am curled up in fetal position in my bed because of painful cramps (which sometimes induce vomiting) and when drinking this tea they disappeared.
This theory was further tested when one morning I missed drinking my cup of tea, went to the mall and had horrendous cramps and had to leave. Then I thought to myself "Hmm…I haven't had a single cramp, but I didn't drink my tea today…" So I made myself a cup, and BOOM my cramps disappeared. This tea is literally magic in a cup.
