Drugstore Makeup Haul!

Hey everyone! Being back home means that I can go shopping like crazy at the drugstores with all their mega super sales! They recently had some great deals going on like Maybelline was all 40% off and the Revlon lip products were all $6.99 so naturally I HAD to get some!

The first few things I got were more face centered. I have seen a couple people talk about a few things and also I've just been wanting to try a few other things :)

Maybelline Dream Pure BB Cream- So I actually had the chance to test this out today. I went to Disneyland for the 4th of July (American Independence Day) and I always test out new products when I have long days or go to amusement parks. Not the best idea in case something goes horribly wrong, but hey you can really see if it works! This stuff WORKS! Oh my goodness I think it is one of my new favorite face products. It gives really decent coverage, sets within a few minutes of applying to be completely dry, doesn't get  oily looking throughout the day, and has a little Salicylic Acid in it so I really feel like I'm putting something not totally bad on my skin (especially on such long and hot days, it was 100F in Disneyland!). There will DEFINITELY be a review soon.

Covergirl Clean Glow Blush in Peaches - I also tried this out, and it is such a nice blush! It isn't so horrendously pigmented that you look like a clown, but still has decent pigmentation. The beauty is it's a matte blush (which are definitely harder to find) and although technically there are three colors in it I just swirled them all together and it gives a really nice soft color to your cheeks that anyone could pull off.

Sinful Colors Nail Polish in Aubergine - I bought this because I LOVE a good deep red for my toes. It makes them instantly look like I've been to the salon and gotten a pedicure and isn't super high maintenance. I've always loved Sinful Colors nail polish because they have a huge color selection, great pigmentation, good staying power, and are around $1 (which makes it easy to own a wide variety, or if you forgot your favorite nail polish you can probably find one similar).

Covergirl Bombeshell Shineshadow in Copper Fling - I haven't really heard THAT much about these newer shadows, but they seem like a good idea. They are a cream/mousse shadow in a squeezy tube which makes it super hygienic and I think keeps the product in the best shape for longer. I tried this out today too by itself and used it with my fingers sheerly for a wash of a bit of color and sparkle. I didn't set it with a shadow and it lasted all day up until midnight in 100F heat (and I got soaked on Splash Mountain, forgot to mention that earlier!) So far I really like it, going to test it more and then let you guys know how it goes!

Maybelline Baby Skin Primer - I bought this because who doesn't love the idea of a good drugstore primer? Now I sit on the fence with primers, as some of them have clogged my pores horrendously (the silicone ones a.k.a. Benefit Porefessional, so I usually steer clear of silicone based primers except I thought I'd give this one a chance). I have only used it once, but after 12+ hours of wear today it made my makeup go on nicely initially and no pore clogging in sight! The Benefit Porefessional clogs my pores horrendously the same day I use it. So far so good, I'll keep you updated!

And on to my clear favorites….LIP PRODUCTS! (Also if you guys specifically want to see a review on any of these products sooner than others please let me know! Or else I'll just review in a random order)

L'Oreal Glossy Balms in My Babydoll / Innocent Coral - So I saw someone post these on instagram, then when I was in Vegas I saw a display and these were the last two still somehow (miraculously) wrapped. So I definitely had to pick them up and try them (since I missed the La Laque/Le Matte balms). So far so good, I really like them since they kind of stain your lips a bit and haven't bled on me yet.

NYC City Proof Twistable Intense Lip Color in Riverside Rose and Parsons Pink - I bought Riverside Rose first and loved it so much I went back and got another (I want them all!) I know yet another chubby pencil, but these are amazing! They smell like candy and are super moisturizing and are only $2.99 with a huge color selection!

Wet N Wild Megalast Lip Color in Bare it All (902c) - I saw this color on Meghan Rosette/Meghan Rienks channel, and it looked SO GORGEOUS on her! So naturally I had to go out and get it (and for $2.49 you can't go wrong…and it was on sale for BOGO 50% off too!) and I wore it to Disneyland and it was BEAUTIFUL! I wore it over my Essence lipliner in Wish Me a Rose and it was gorgeous! It's a darker pinky rose neutral nude. I am not really a fan of "nude" lips but I love the "darker nudes". It is also considered a dupe for MAC Velvet Teddy (I found when I looked it up just now) so that's great too!

Revlon ColorStay Moisture Stain in Cannes Crush - I hopped on the bandwagon. Yup. Haven't gotten the chance to really try this out but it's such a gorgeous summer color and swatched on the back of my hand it looks beautiful so I do have high hopes for it! Let me know if you've tried it or have a favorite shade :)

Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in Elusive - I also had to try these. I've seen them over in Poland but they are RIDICULOUSLY expensive (like three or four times the price) and so I bought one here. I have yet to try it but it swatches beautifully as well.

NYC Expert Last Lipstick in Traffic Jam - This was influenced 1,000% by Hollie (her blog is eatinglipstick.blogspot.com and youtube channel is youtube.com/hollieeatslipstick). She absolutely RAVES about this lipstick and I can see why. I wore it to dinner  few nights ago and it is so gorgeous on and lasts pretty well I love it! So thanks Hollie!

Let me know if you've tried any of these or have any drugstore recommendations for me while I'm back in California! Thanks so much for reading and sorry I haven't been posting much, I've been super busy and studying a lot! (Also I got a new camera for my birthday so I was playing around with it in this post!)

  2. The Matte Balm in Elusive is amazing. I believe that's the shade I got in my Ipsy bag and I was floored by just how comfortable it is to wear and how the shade is just flat out stunning. I hope you enjoy it!

You're selling me on Wet n Wild's 902C! I have the 903C one and wasn't sure what other colours to pick up so this one looks like another good one to me!

covergirl = maxfactor if you can get your hands on that! i live part time in Europe where I can't get my favorite foundation (Covergirl 3 in 1) and the Maxfactor Facefinity 3 in 1 is EXACTLY the same and so are all the other products just under different names! Even the mascaras :) I think clump crusher is false lash effect… I should really do a comparison post haha. Max Factor MAY not release things as quickly but I've been able to find my favorite cover girl products through Maxfactor if that helps at all! They are literally the same brand, they used to sell maxfactor in the states but stopped because i think the brands became one like a while ago :) hope that ramble helped!

Really?? thats so good to know! It may sound stupid but whenever I test a new lip product I almost always go for a neutral color so if it bleeds or wears strangely it isn't as noticeable and i can really get some use out of it even if it is just a subpar decent product. But you've sold ME! on the matte balm!

I would TOTALLY go out and get the Wet N Wild Lippie because it is so gorgeous, and you can change the tone easily over a lipliner, like make it more pink or more brown etc. but it's still SUPER pigmented. And plus it's cheap so you can't really go wrong! I have some of the bolder colors and they're really drying but this one is so moisturizing! Do you like 903c? I may have to pick that one up! and Wet N wild is BOGO 50% off at Rite Aid now!

YOU SHOULD! Literally amazing, it's the only thing I brought on vacation with me!!!!!!!! (well my vacation within my vacation of being in California, brought a crap load of makeup to california!) And I'm definitely a lip product addict….they're so easy to wear and make you look pulled together even if you're only wearing some foundation mascara, and blush! I'll keep you updated on the ones I haven't tried yet xx
