Photo Vacation 2014 Part 3 // San Francisco

Hey everyone! Back with another installment of my vacation photos! Now I'm sure you know I'm Californian (just look a bit to the right on my blog) but when I was home I just took a day trip with my best friend Paula and we drove down to San Francisco in her fancy new car. (If you couldn't guess by the giant Golden Gate bridge staring at you in the picture above)

San Francisco is a 2-3 hour drive from Sacramento which is where my grandparents live and I went to high school so some of my best friends are in Sacramento, but I am from Southern California and my mom currently lives in Southern California just to clear things up. But due to my ties across the state I split up my time on vacation and travel literally all over the state #theresnoplacelikehome

So if you haven't been to San Francisco or the bay area, there are a lot of bridges. More than just the Golden Gate, and so some of these pictures are of the other cool bridges (mostly the bay bridge)

I wonder who actually types this in to ask.com as they're driving by....

Oh those hills. Those wonderful hills that are terrifying to drive up especially if you have an older car (thank god we took Paula's instead of mine).

To get to the golden gate you have to get to the water at the bottom, so I'll just give you a minute to think about how many hills we drove  up and down - it was exhausting and I wasn't even the one driving.

Awkward car selfies with my bff. Isn't she a beauty?

And finally we have the Golden Gate :) One thing you need to know about San Francisco is that it is permanently overcast and horrendously windy, but the second you cross out of it it's sunny and beautiful.

Hey Golden Gate....This is looking from the Marin side (another city on the side of the bridge opposite of San Francisco).

Did I tell you or did I tell you it is windy af

Gotta get that tourist pic even though we aren't tourists. C'est la vie.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post! I think I'm going to do one more installment in this series with pictures just from my phone. There's a lot that your phone captures that you don't with a giant camera. I don't haul around a huge camera horseback riding or swimming in a pool or at parties, but you get what I mean. I would love to hear your thoughts.

Hope you enjoyed looking into a little piece of home (and seeing my beautiful best friend Paula).

  2. these photos are amazing!! and I agree, a lot of times I get the best photos with my phone just because I don't feel like carrying a heavy camera around... ah, this post has made me want to visit California now even more!

  6. I've always wanted to visit San Francisco and your photos make me want to visit even more. The hills would absolutely destroy me though as I live in a stupidly flat part of England and even a tiny slope reminds me how unused to them I am!

  13. haha!! I was dying on those hills omg they're insane! I like to think I'm in relatively decent shape because I walk everywhere when I'm in school, but then you get to SF and are like "nope! just kidding i'm in terrible shape!" huffing and puffing up those hills lol
