Hey everyone! I'm back with a skincare post and a super exciting giveaway! I know it may seem I've been doing a lot of giveaways recently, but so many wonderful brands have reached out to me and offered to send me products, and if I liked them to review them and host a giveaway so that one of my fabulous subscribers would be able to try them too! Nicest. Brands. Ever. Seriously- I can't believe it, but today I am sharing two products with you that have turned my life around.
Warning- this is going to be a very long post because I am talking about two products that I absolutely adore! But I break them up so if you are interested in only reading about one you can scroll to that, but I'd love if you would read the whole post, it would rally give you more information on the giveaway!
Cloud 9 Skin Solutions is not a new brand to my blog, I have reviewed one of their products in the past you can see here and they are a fabulous brand! They are growing as a brand steadily, and although it may seem that their line is expanding slowly, I have talked to them personally and it is due to the fact that they want to perfect a product and put a product out there that will really work and help people.
I much prefer a brand that focuses on perfecting their products, and am much more likely to spend my money on a product that has been perfected and tested over and over rather than a brand that just cranks out products left and right hoping one will be a hit and work and people will like it.
Both of the products they sent me are absolutely life-changing. Yes I said it, life-changing!
Cloud 9 Skin Solutions Clarity* £32The first product I received is called Clarity. By the title I think you can already guess what this product is aimed at....clear skin! And as a little side note I have completely put down my Origins Super Spot Remover a.k.a. my holy grail skin savior from blemishes, and have been strictly been using this-that alone says a lot about this product.
What Cloud 9 Skin Solutions Says about this product:
-Helps eliminate blemishes, redness, blackheads & whiteheads.
-Reduces inflammation and soothes skin
-Encourages smoother, clearer skin
-Suitable for acne prone skin
-Hypoallergenic invisible gel
-Free from Parabens, Formaldehyde, Sulphates, Phthalates, Silicones, Artificial colours/dyes, SLS, SLES and DEAs
"Clarity Skin Clearing Spot Gel works to reduce inflammation and prevent spots from returning on blemished and acne prone skin. This invisible gel provides fast and effective relief whilst promoting clear, revitalised skin. Chamomile extract helps skin heal naturally without irritation."
SO, what d I have to say about this product. I would DEFINITELY say those claims are true, (although I don't see immediate results on inflammation reduction, but overnight I definitely do). This spot gel works just as well as my Origins gel, but better because it doesn't dry my skin out.
If you are familiar with the Origins one, it works the same way, you apply the tiniest amount after you cleanse and moisturize your face, morning and night (although I usually just do it at night unless I have a really bad spot that popped up and I can't get rid of).
I think it really does help heal the skin rather than just focusing on getting rid of the spot. With my Origins one (I'm comparing it to the Origins Super Spot remover because that is the only one that has worked for me as Benzoyl Peroxide doesn't work on my skin, and I feel like many people have tried it and can understand the comparisons), my skin gets dried out, and after I apply it I get a tingling/burning sensation which I thought was the product making its way into the spot to kill all the bacteria and help me out.
With this product it goes on, you don't feel anything, and in 1-2 days the spot is gone but your skin looks perfectly fine around the area where it was. There isn't usually any redness or discoloration that spots leave behind, whereas my Origins one could leave my skin dry and usually took a few days longer to get rid of my pesky spots, but when it was gone it would be "flattened" as I call it, where it's still red, but there's no longer a head and that takes a few days to go away but can be covered easily with makeup.
With this, the magic in this tube in a way soothes the spot and the skin around it, and somehow gets the spot to go away without drying your skin out. Whatever is in this, it's magic. I want about a thousand of these tubes.
As a little price comparison to you all, as I know the Origins Super Spot remover is very well known and some of you may feel more inclined to buy it, this is a huge tube, and the origins is a tiny tube.
Origins Super Spot Remover £15 for 10 ml ~ £1.50/ml
Cloud 9 Skin Solutions Clarity £32 for 50 ml ~ £0.64/ml
These products are SO similar, albeit I prefer the Cloud 9 because it does' dry my skin out - but the Origins Super Spot Remover is almost 2.5 times more expensive! So I hope that put things a little bit into perspective for you if you were needing help deciding.
Cloud 9 Skin Solutions Tranquility* £36After that rambly speech, here's another one! But don't worry- there's a giveaway at the end! So all in good time!
The next product is called Tranquility, which as the name implies is something soothing, calming. This is a product for people with troublesome skin in the dry area. It is specifically formulated for very dry skin, people with skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis (me!), etc.
What Cloud 9 Skin Solutions Says
-Natural formula helps soothe red, irritated, scaly skin
-Improves the softness and elasticity of extremely dry skin
-Suitable for use on face and body
-Free from Parabens, Formaldehyde, Sulphates, Phthalates, Silicone, Artificial colours/dyes, SLS, SLES and DEAs
"Tranquility Ultra Soothing Cream for Dry Damaged Skin helps relieve common symptoms such as extreme dryness and red inflamed scaling skin, while encouraging healthy skin regeneration. Our unique combination of Vitamin B12 and Avocado Oil can help soothe sensitive areas by moisturising and nourishing the skin, helping reduce the discomfort caused by dry inflamed skin conditions. Suitable for skin prone to Eczema, Psoriasis and Dermatitis."I think a lot of people can relate to one of these conditions/problems listed that the Tranquility cream helps. If not, man you are lucky! If you win the giveaway I'm sure this would make a wonderful Christmas present to someone you know that does suffer from one of these problems, and they really would be thankful.
So I have mild psoriasis, and it rears its ugly head on my elbows due to studying and sitting at desks, I lean on my elbows and end up with what I so lovingly call "Alligator Elbows" I basically call it that because the skin is flaky and scaly and looks like the skin of an alligator and is very dry. I usually try and get it off with a pumice stone and then apply a thick lotion but no lotion I had was cutting it.
Then Tranquility came in to my life and boy am I happy that it did! After getting all the dead skin off with the pumice stone I will apply this and it works like a dream, I was talking to the brain behind all of these products on twitter (you should follow Cloud 9! link here) and it was mentioned that the B12 complex in Tranquility is what has been really helping my alligator elbows. Hey if it works, it works!
I'll also apply this to my hands at night (I wouldn't during the day because it is very thick and a bit oily, and isn't one of those "fast absorbing lotions") and apply it to my elbows, go to sleep and in the morning have the softest skin ever. My hands get very dry, drier than the average person because for classes, labs, and hospital work all I do is constantly take gloves off and put more on to keep environments sterile but that really takes a toll on your hands.
The Tranquility lotion comes out pink (which I thought was kind of funny- it reminds me of calamine lotion with that color, but is super thick as you can see! It even takes some effort to squeeze it out of the tube).
Clarity comes out as a thin gel that applies clear when you put it on your face, and I would say it feels thinner than the Origins one, so if you were to put makeup over it this would be easier, however it does create like a film just like the Origins one so that's why I don't apply it if I were to wear makeup. However on the weekends I do put it on in the morning if I'm not going out that day (most days).
