Holy Brows!

I Tint My Brows ♡ * - Makeup Revolution £1.99

Holy brows! As in I have finally found my holy grail brow product! WOW what a lofty claim to make right? As you all know my brows are VERY blonde (I've done posts on dying them and if you haven't seen them in their nature state you will later in this post), as in so blonde it looks like they are sparse (they aren't) and you can't see most of the hairs....super annoying!

I've been around the block with brow products, I've tried so many that you can think of. I've gone too bold, too little, not worn anything in my brows at all, dyed them too dark, didn't dye them at all...you name it (the only thing I haven't done is sharpie brows) but I even went through the "my brows are going to be unnaturally square in the middle" phase. So I definitely think that I am a good person to be talking about brow products.

So Makeup Revolution (absolutely love that brand and the ladies over there are the SWEETEST) kindly sent me ALL of the shades of this product. They asked if I wanted to try it out, and I was talking about how I wasn't sure what color to pick since I'm blonde and I didn't know how accurate the online swatches were (very accurate btw) so they sent them all over to me so that I can hopefully guide you in picking the right color for your brows!

So the product comes in four shades
1. Fairest - light blonde
2. Light/Medium - for darker blondes, blondes who like darker brows or light brunettes
3. Medium - a darker shade with a reddish undertone that would work for brunettes or redheads
4. Dark - this shade is black basically, but this is for the ladies with extremely dark brown or black hair that don't want to fill their brows in in fear of looking like they have sharpie brows.

The things I do for the sake of blogging...
Above you can see ALL of the shades swatched in my brows, my brows in their natural state (without any dye in them...I need to soon), and a comparison of Benefit Gimme Brow in Light/Medium.

I didn't edit any of these pictures so that I could show the true color, but I also am not wearing any other makeup. I didn't wear makeup because I took all of these pictures on the same day, same lighting, within minutes of each other and all of the wiping the product off with makeup remover would have ruined anything I put on.

I know everyone wants to see the comparison of the wands to Benefit's because "the wand is so small to really get into the brows" but I honestly like the makeup revolution want better. The shade fairest and Benefit's Light/Medium are basically dupes for each other, but in the eyebrow swatch picture you can see the pigmentation, and how they really do compare to each other.

In the "eyebrow swatches" I took twice as long with the Benefit Gimme Brow than I did with the I Tint My Brows and the effect I think everyone would agree is a lot nicer with the Makeup Revolution one.

This is probably the most awkward picture ever (excuse the thousand freckles...summer just ended) but it shows how I like to use this product. I like to use fairest at the front of my brow so it's lighter, and then use light/medium about hallway through to the tail for a nice gradient effect. On lazier days I just run fairest through all of my brows and am done but that's the 30 second easy way out. In probably every single brow picture for the past month this is all I've been using (even in my new blog pic on the side with the red lips!)

I'm absolutely in LOVE with the formula of these. They are super pigmented, the product is slightly watery but in a good way because it deposits color very easily onto your brows and the brow area (this would definitely even fill in sparse areas, and using the wand it looks like actual hairs) and then when it dries it sets your brows to the max. I remember when I would use the gloopy Maybelline clear great lash to set my brows (EW!) and this is nothing like that. Your brows don't feel crispy or crunchy, but they feel set like a rock. It's hard to explain because when you move your brows you can't feel it there, but if you touch them they are like glued down. If you have unruly brows this is 100% the product for you.

Here are more "swatches" which are the exact colors, unedited to show you what they look like. The packaging is really nice because it is a squeeze tube with a wand stuck in. So you can either squeeze some of the product out onto the back of your hand and work that way or you can use the wand (like I do) for a super quick application.

I love that Makeup Revolution made a basically black version of this because that shade is definitely overlooked in the brow market, and when it isn't you get sharpie brows. This, using the wand (especially for the darker shades) looks like natural hairs, fills in a bit, and sets your brows very well.

One of my best friends Danielle has really dark brows and told me she wants to get into using brow products but doesn't want them to look so drawn on and scary, so I am definitely going to pass this one on to her as her hair is so dark brown it's almost black.

I am ABSOLUTELY 100% in love with this product, I have even been neglecting my Anastasia Dipbrow for this (I know... crazy). It is just so quick, easy, and fuss free and I can't fault it! And the fact that it is £1.99 amazes me, and I really hope you all go and try this, and I hope this post helps you find the right shade! The colors you see here are 100% accurate and happy brow product hunting!

  1. I can't believe how good these look on, I didn't think the dark would look natural at all but it actually looks nice! Weird that they look like lip glosses though.
