Quit Teasing!

Your hair that is... Alright, we are almost all guilty of teasing the crap out of our hair sometimes (or all the time) a lot of us ladies want to look like we have a lions mane and there are ridiculous amounts of products on the market to try and achieve that. MOST of them are the kind that you put in when your hair is wet, and then you HAVE to blow dry it to like "activate" the product or something like that...I have a volumizing mousse in my bathroom right now and a gel spray that says "blow dry to activate aor "to achieve best results" we've all heard it a thousand times- even if your main goal isn't super voluminous hair. Also, there's another problem with teasing, girls with long hair or thick heavy hair understand- the teasing falls out! Just like curls falling out of your hair and then you're left like "cool...spent all that time this morning for nothing."

Well I found the ultimate game changer ladies. This is the strangest and coolest product I've come across in a long time. When I wake up in the morning, I'm a side sleeper, so one side of my head always is flatter than the other side just from sleeping on it. This little baby has solved all of those problems and more, I now have some volume in my fine hair without teasing which is a total miracle.

Powder Play - Big Sexy Hair* £8.70

So there's this little salt and pepper type shaker on the top, and what you do is split your hair into sections like you were using dry shampoo, shake some of it on, and rub it in gently - not a vigorous dry shampoo rub, just kind of rub your fingers over where you see the powder and it turns clear immediately. Don't put it in your hands and then try and rub it through your hair because #1. I tried that and it did nothing, #2 this powder is the strangest thing-it's a white powder that turns clear, so you shake it on your hair and when you lightly rub it on it feels wet! Like the MAC powder or the Revlon powders that feel wet when you put them on, that's the feeling I get with this.

If you don't like the feeling of dry shampoo in your hair I would skip this one because it has the same type of texture- but if you are an avid dry shampoo user like I am then this may be the product for you (not to mention it does do a little dry shampoo work, if your hair is just a tad greasy you may just need this.

After you've sectioned off your hair and applied the powder, i would do a hair flip, like bend over and stand up real fast, not the emoji kind of hair flip and you are literally left with a mane. I would describe this as glue for your hair, and a tip when applying is apply it to the hair that is pointing up. What I mean by that is when you section your hair and flip a piece over to the side, that hair is pointing straight up, and the rest of your hair is pointing straight down, but aim for the scalp and the top part of the hair but don't worry if you get the bottom part because if you flip your hair over and rub it in again you'll still have the lion's mane.

The best uses I have found for this is as afore mentioned, when I wake up and my hair is stuck to my head (lovely image right- I swear those youtubers that do morning routine videos and "wake up" with perfect hair are lying and totally did their hair before),next after I've been outside in the humidity- it's been snowing and raining here a lot so my hair is limp and lifeless due to that WONDERFUL weather. Can you sense the sarcasm? You can use this if you just want some volume in your everyday hairstyle, I would recommend putting this in after you do your hair but before applying like smoothing products etc. and you can also use this as a base for a tease and man you won't be able to get it out! Your hair will be LOCKED in place if you do that which you may need on a night out or if you're fancy and going to an event or a nice dinner etc.

I have tried so many columnizing products, texturizing sprays, powders, you name it (the only one I haven't tried is the Bumble and Bumble Pret a Powder, and this one works better than ALL of them. Like I said I would refer this as volume glue, and if you want to buy it normally it comes in a teeny little bottle, but from the link I have above it comes in a bottle twice the size for half the price.

I hope this review has been helpful and you guys have learned something cool and how to unleash your inner lioness- through your hair at least. Also if you have any post requests for me to do in the new year, don't be shy leave them below!!

  13. yeah this is mega size !! it even says like 100% more on the bottle for free (probably just a gimmick but still) it's the biggest one i've seen so far, I've been looking into these types of products for a while. the only bigger one i can think of is the Bumble and Bumble Pret a Powder but I'm not sure if it works the same as this
