Nude Dude Palette - The Balm | Review + Swatches

Hey everyone! Today I wanted to talk about a palette that I have absolutely been using to death (you'll have seen looks with it if you follow me on instagram) and I really wanted to get a good feel for all of the colors before reviewing the palette!

So the palette comes in a sleeve like this with the palette inside (as shown above), but the cover of the actual palette looks exactly the same as the sleeve. I personally ADORE The Balm shadows. They are so pigmented and so soft they feel almost creamy- if you've never tried them the closest thing I would compare them to is the Lorac shadows. A BEAUTIFUL texture and EXTREMELY pigmented.

So here is the open palette (with the sleeve behind it) and there's a Nude 'Tude palette that has named women standing in cute poses with the shadows covering their tops and bottoms, but I have never tried this palette so I can't compare. The Nude Dude palette is the same just with men standing in towels and I think it's just incredibly cute.

I really like the palette because it has a nice mix of warm and cooler toned shades and half the palette is matte, and half is shimmer. The shadows are really soft so if you go to town loading up your brush there will be fallout, but I don't know why it would since they are so pigmented and you need such a small amount- a little goes a very long way.

6 Matte: Fearless, Fabulous, Flawless, Feisty, Friendly, Funny
6 Shimmer: Flawless, Firm, Fit, Flirty, Fierce Fine

So here are all the shadows swatched, Fearless kind of disappears on me because it is a peachy matte skin tone color, which is really good to put all over the lid as a base before you do your shadow look. I tried to build the color up but it matches my squinting so well that it just didn't want to show up.

Most of these shadows are just one swipe which is crazy especially on the darker shadows and it took a lot of work to get the shadows off of my fingers to get them clean to swatch the next shade.

The shadows are super long wearing, they don't crease, I always get a LOT of compliments when I do a look wearing this palette and I literally don't have a bad word to say about it. I am a huge lover of The Balm and own two other palettes, a lipstick, and a blush and this palette definitely didn't let me down. It just made me want more products! They're all so beautiful and so gorgeous I recommend the brand to anyone as it also isn't the most expensive brand out there-it is more expensive on SOME things than say MAC, but the quality is so high in my mind they should be charging a lot more, because I'm used to paying more for quality like this if that makes any sense.

Thanks so much for reading, I hope this post was helpful and please go enter my MAC Cinderella Royal Ball Lipstick giveaway (open until 4.14.15)

  8. This is the most adorable palette I've ever seen! While obviously the great quality is the most important part, the dudes in towels have definitely won me over!

  11. I think I would almost buy this for the packaging alone. The cover is very reminiscent of Rita Hayworth in the movie Gilda. I just adore Old Hollywood movie stars and the glamour of the era. I wasn't jazzed about what's coming in my Ipsy bag this month, but after seeing your review I'm excited to be getting a single eyeshadow from this palette.

  13. its AMAZING. I swear to you I love every single thing I've tried from this brand and also I've never met a person who didn't like what they've tried from The Balm! The Balm and LORAC are my top two favorite shadow makers- they beat out urban decay by miles (and i ADORE ColourPop but idk where to group them since they're a gel/cream/powder lol)

  23. the first two are totally light lid colors! there's just not like a stark white or anything in the palette, and other of the lighter colors i use as lid shades like faithful, flirty, feisty, etc.

  28. This palette looks so up my alley, the swatches look fab. I have the original nude'tude, but don't use it all that much, anymore, but I could see myself using this all the time.
